Eagle Rock Hike, Warner Springs 01/16/16

Experienced a great hike today-The Eagle Rock Hike.  We hiked a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail. We hiked through Old Oak Trees, a running creek, chaparral, open vistas and boulder formations.  We saw Lake Henshaw and the Palamar Observatory.  Love this picture of a heart shaped hole in an oak tree!
Found a couple of trees that looked like they were "bleeding".  There were about 5 trees that had a red section of their truck that was very interesting.  Very unusual but visually impressive.
You do not see the Eagle from the lower trail but once you climb and round the boulder structure it is an amazing sight!
Some friends we met along the trail.   I heard them saying."Eat more chicken!".  They wouldn't MOOOOOVE from the trail so Jackie and I had to divert our path.
Ahh  Holy Cow Shit...We made it.  Total of 7 miles!  Can't wait for our next expedition!

Taking a break to enjoy the view of the valley.
Resting or dogs!
Peace on the trail.
Saturday mid-day and no-one around!
